Brian M. Bartlett

Brian M. Bartlett has experience in civil litigation matters including products liability, premises liability, commercial contract litigation, motor vehicle negligence, and railroad litigation.  Mr. Bartlett obtained his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the nation’s top accounting program at University of Texas, graduating with honors, and passing the rigorous two-and-a-half day certified public accountant examination on the first sitting in 1992.  Brian then worked for 11 years as a C.P.A., starting out as an auditor for Price Waterhouse and then working in-house as an internal auditor, cost accounting manager, and division controller for companies such as Michael’s Stores and ConAgra Foods where he honed his skills at communicating and working effectively with people of all backgrounds, education, and experience levels—from line workers at slaughterhouse facilities to senior management of Fortune 500 companies.

Since obtaining his law degree he has focused primarily on representing defending clients in high-value, complex civil litigation involving personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage claims in both Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts.  This includes cases involving commercial trucking accidents, business premises assaults, a wide variety of other alleged dangerous commercial premises conditions, convenience store and apartment complex shooting deaths, claims of defective products, such as construction equipment, mountaineering equipment, jail mattresses, inflatable amusement devices, medical devices, and property damage cases, such as apartment complex defective construction and construction-related hotel fires.  Mr. Bartlett has also represented insurance companies on first-party property damage claims and Missouri Statute § 539.065 claims.  Since joining Yeretsky and Maher, Mr. Bartlett has represented railroads in defending FELA claims and claims arising out of grade crossing accidents.
